Problem 14: The cake stall. Solution
It is clear that 10 muffins and 10 Bakewells will give 20 cakes for £20, as will 16 muffins and 4 Fruit cakes. However, in neither case has some of each type been sold. The average, however, will also give 20 cakes for £20 and some of each type will have been sold: namely 13 Muffins, 5 Bakewell and 2 Fruit cakes.
