Problem 1 A train journey to London. Solution.
Suppose Jonathan leaves Leuchars at midday. He will reach London at
17.45. The train leaving London at 6.00 in the morning will reach
Leuchars at 11.45 so Jonathan's train won't pass that train. However it
will pass each train leaving London from 7.00 until 17.00 so he will
pass eleven trains.
