Problem 20: The Concert
The Vestry arranged a concert in the Younger Hall in aid of the Church Heating Fund. They sold tickets for the concert on each of four Sunday mornings. On the first Sunday they sold six-seventh of the tickets plus one-seventh of a ticket. (Of course this must be a whole number of tickets - they only ever sell whole tickets.) On the second Sunday they sold six-seventh of the remaining tickets plus one-seventh of a ticket. On the third Sunday they sold six-seventh of the remaining tickets plus one-seventh of a ticket. On the fourth Sunday they sold six-seventh of the remaining tickets plus one-seventh of a ticket and left feeling very pleased having sold all the tickets. If the tickets were sold for £5 each, how much money does the Vestry make towards the new heating system.
