Margaret Pyke writes about Kathleen Noble leaving us.

Margaret Pyke writes: Kathleen Noble, alas, is leaving us. We in the Poetry Group shall miss her wonderful hospitality. Her warmth, her gaiety and her lifelong love of poetry have delighted us, while her gift for reeling off from memory even long poems, often in the couthie Buchan dialect, have beguiled us.

Our meetings have been spiced with laughter. Indeed, our latest, which might have been tinged with sadness, turned out to be one of the merriest! We learned of Bob's ninetieth birthday party at The Whey Pat and saw photographs of Janet the Intrepid co-piloting, however briefly, a Piper Tomahawk over the Isles of Lewis and Harris. We ended, as always, with Compline.

The 'Bonnie Lass o' Fyvie' is going home to Aberdeenshire, near to the farm where she was born and where, as a young girl, she first met her dear Douglas. She goes with blessings and the assurance of our lasting friendship.
