Accessibility statement

All Saints’ Church, St Andrews is committed to making its website accessible to as many people as possible.

We want everyone to be able to access information about worship, events and community life, regardless of ability, technology or circumstance.

Parish churches are not subject to the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018. However, under the Equality Act 2010, we seek to make reasonable adjustments to ensure our services are accessible to disabled people.

Our approach to accessibility

We have designed the website with accessibility in mind. This includes:

  • Clear and consistent page structure
  • Logical heading hierarchy
  • Descriptive link text
  • Sufficient colour contrast for most text and interface elements
  • Text that can be resized without loss of content or functionality
  • Keyboard access for core navigation
  • Alternative text for informative images

We aim to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA where reasonably practicable for a parish website.

Limitations

We recognise that some areas of the website may not be fully accessible. For example:

  • Some third-party content or embedded media may not meet accessibility standards
  • Automated accessibility tools may identify issues that require further manual review
  • Older content may not fully meet current best practice

We are a small parish organisation with limited resources, but we will make reasonable and proportionate improvements where issues are identified.
